The New Loud stretches the mold of the traditional punk band by incorporating electronic elements such as keyboards, sequences and synth drums; while retaining the essence of the protopunk archetype - raw energy, manic tempos and immediate lyrics. The New Loud is from the blue collar, midwest-American city Milwaukee, WI. Originally formed in 2001 by Shane Olivo (guitar/vocals) and Radish Beat (drums/vocals), the band added Jessi Nakles (keyboard/vocals) in 2004 and has been playing regular shows and tours ever since.
The New Loud has performed at CMJ 2009, Forward Fest 2009, Texas Rockfest 2008, Canadian Music Week 2006 as well as serving as an opener for larger bands such as Yacht, Ludo and the venerable Ataris.
In 2010 The New Loud will be releasing 2 records, both an EP and LP, mixed by Mark Trombino (Jimmy Eat World, Rilo Kiley, Blink 182).
Don't Dance is the first single from the upcoming EP entitled 'Can't Stop Not Knowing'.
